Current Obsession

I got this Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm from my Birchbox and I am so obsessed with the color. It’s super pink in color and goes on like a traditional lip balm. They carry this brand at Target, but I’ve never bought anything from the line as it’s a bit more pricey than your average drugstore brand. The color I got is called Pixi Pink and I’d definitely recommend this for my fellow fair skinned ladies. The color is also long lasting —I think I only reapplied it once during the day.

Korean Beauty Brands – IOPE

Riding the insane popularity of K-pop, Korean beauty is absolutely taking over. You can’t go on any beauty websites without hearing about the newest and amazing Korean beauty products. AmorePacific, the leading Korean beauty brand, owns a bunch of other cosmetics and skin care brands popular throughout the world. I recently came across IOPE, AmorePacific calls this brand “cos-medical.”

I got the IOPE Air Cushion in N21 from someone I met who works for AmorePacific, and I am so obsessed with the product. Its a foundation but I prefer to use it as a finisher/corrector on top of my concealer. Its very layerable and can be worn alone, on top of concealer, and even finished with powder foundation for a more matte look. The product goes on wet and, in my opinion takes quite some time to dry, but if you apply a powder finish it helps speed up the dry time. The Air Cushion is like a hybrid of liquid/cream/powder foundation and its SPF 50! The buildable nature of the product is also a huge bonus, it can be as sheer or full-coverage as you want.  Not to mention this color matches my skin perfectly, I can’t say enough good things. Like all other Korean beauty brands, I wish it was more readily available in the US.

The Perfect Red

We all know the adage “when you stop looking…you’ll find it.” Of course this happened to me when I was gifted my new favorite red lipstick. My mom got it as a sample from Sephora and gave it to me, as she was not about to wear the fire-engine bright color. It’s called Beso: Stila All day Liquid Lipstick.
Screen Shot 2014-02-15 at 12.56.42 PMIt doesn’t look that vibrant from this photo but I assure you that it’s the brightest red I’ve ever seen. Not only is it the exact shade I was looking for, it actually stays on. It goes on as a lip creme but quickly dries to a matte velvety finish. Though I haven’t tried this, I’m sure it could be worn as a gloss-finish (for those who don’t like matte) if clear lip gloss was applied after the color dries. Currently, I only have a small sample size, but I am definitely going to purchase the full sized lip color as soon as mine runs out.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry it’s been insanely longer than I ever intended since I’ve last posted. I’ve been meaning to share some of the insane beauty products I got for Christmas. I’m sure you’ll see that I’ve blogged about most of these in the past, but merely coveting them. Above is my Sephora goody-box that I’m so in love with:

Contents:
-Tom Ford Black Orchid
-NARS Guy Bourdin “One Night Stand” Palette
-Kat Von D Saint
-Kat Von D Spellbinding lipstick set

Wicked Set

How cool is this: for the 10th Anniversary of Wicked, Deborah Lippmann has created a Wicked Set. A trio of Oz-inspired mini lacquers: Defying Gravity (Elphaba’s unlimited green), Popular (Glinda’s glistening pink), and One Short Day (positively perfect emerald).

Quest for Red, Part 2

After buying the wrong drugstore brand red, I finally caved and forced myself to go to MAC. What I really like about MAC is that their employees not only know the product but most of them are make-up artists and know what looks good and what will work on you. I walked into the store and explained that I was looking for the most electric red that they had, but in a satin finish (not looking for matte right now). The associate knew exactly what I was looking for: MAC Red. Simple, bright and exactly what I wanted. I am obsessed with the color:
