Lush ‘Godiva’

After having purchased Flying Fox by Lush I’ve fallen victim to the captivating scent of jasmine.

After branching with friends yesterday I rounded the block of 61st street and was overwhelmed by the multitude of sweet soapy smells. This could only be one place: Lush! I went in looking for a small bottle of American Cream conditioner (inspired by another beauty blogger’s post) but they didn’t have the small size I was hoping for. I asked about a few other products which the staff were very enthused to show me. I mentioned my love for the heavy jasmine scent of Flying Fox and she showed me a few products including the Lust solid perfume and another jasmine-scented oil. Anyway, I walked away with a solid shampoo ‘Godiva’, which I am really curious to try. I can’t wait to be overwhelmed by the scent in my hair!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

When I visited the Birchbox store last month I got to make a DIY Birchbox, which is one of the cool services they offer. The employee I was working with recommended I try the Liz Earle skincare sample. She told me that everyone who worked in the corporate office and in the store was obsessed with the brand and specifically the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. The cleanser comes with a muslin cloth, which I have found to be a miracle worker. I’m definitely not a skincare expert, but I think the cloth it’s the perfect combination of soft and rough. I have even found myself preferring it over my Clarisonic.

I really love this product, and it smells like soothing rosemary. I’ve had a few breakouts recently (it’s a stressful time at work) and I credit this cleanser and cloth with my speedy recovery.

I’m beginning to think only good things can come from a blue box.

Here is a close-up shot of part of the muslin cloth. I think the way it’s woven is the secret to the texture. I can’t recommend this enough. I believe you can even buy the cloths separate from the cleanser. Try it, I promise you won’t regret it.

Moschino (and Barbie) World

It’s no secret that I love Jeremy Scott. He’s always been one of my favorite designers and now that he’s the Creative Director of Moschino, the house is another platform where we can see his work. His latest collection (Spring 2015 RTW) for Moschino showed last week in Milan. In true Jeremy Scott fashion, this collection was exciting, campy and a snap-shot of pop culture.  After taking on McDonald’s last season, this collection was inspired by Barbie herself.

I am so in love with this collection, everything from the signature pink color to the models’ blonde wigs —the looks were perfectly Barbie. I’ve featured some of my favorite looks below:

You can purchase the collection on Moschino.com or OpeningCeremony.com, let’s hear it for e-commerce! Here are some of my favorite items from the line! Aren’t they cute?

Tony Moly: K-Town Beauty

As my obsession with foreign beauty products continues, this past weekend I finally made it to Tony Moly’s K-Town location. I’ve been meaning to hit this store for some time now, but always had something holding me up. After a few weeks of planning to go, I actually went this past weekend. I wasn’t sure what to expect or what I wanted to get —knowing that they sell some of the brand’s products at Urban Outfitters, it was important to me that I purchase something unique to the store. After debating for a half an hour over a few things in the very tiny store, I decided on the following:

  • Tomatox Magic Massage Pack-  this is basically a brightening/clarifying mask
  •  Changing Magic Mask (sheet box)- this pack comes with 7 masks

Isn’t the packaging amazing? I tried the mask last night and I really liked it. Not sure about the brightening effect, since I’m starting with a very fair base (read-super pale). It did leave my skin feeling firm, and that’s reason enough to keep using this product.

Um…can we please talk about what this says? Lost in translation….?

I haven’t tried any of the sheet masks yet but it comes in the following varieties:

  • Black Pearl
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Red Wine
  • Tea Tree
  • Green Apple
  • Royal Jelly
  • Brid’s Nest

Should be interesting! Do you have any favorite Tony Moly products?
