As a scavenger of the internet I occasionally see the Christopher Kane galaxy print floating around blogs and style sites alike. Recently I have become enamored with the galaxy print, and thinking the collection was older I set out to find the exact collection. To my surprise, I found the dress that I have been admiring in the 2011 Resort Collection. The outer space prints are awe-inspiring and complement the shapes of the garments perfectly. Not only are Kane’s designs innovative and creative in their basic format, but the patterns take the outfit to the next level. They’re bold, colorful and take a certain kind of women to wear them: but if pulled off correctly, I believe one of Kane’s dresses can win over the room.

Calvin Klein Collection steals the Golden Globes
I was mesmerized by two looks from Sunday’s Golden Globes: Emma Stone and Claire Danes. What do they have in common you ask? Calvin Klein Collection dresses. The silhouettes are amazing on both gowns, not to mention the peachy/honeysuckle color ushering us into the Spring.

Target Re-Launch!
Ok, so I know its been a while since I’ve last updated, and being that it’s Christmas break I have no excuse for this negligence. You’ll have to accept my apologies. Here is my latest finding: back in 2007 Erin Fetherston, one of my favorite designers, as I always mention, created a line for Target. This February 2011, for Target’s fifth anniversary of designer collaborations, they will be re-launching some of the memorable pieces from almost every GO International line. Pieces from the Proenza, Luella, Erin Fetherston, Patrick Robinson, Libertine, Rodarte lines and more will be featured. I am absolutely elated as I never knew Erin collaborated with Target, so this will be my chance to make up for December 2007! I posted a few images of Erin’s collection, I can’t wait to see the pieces that Target re-lanches, hopefully we’ll see a Lookbook sometime soon.
William Rast Ad
I just saw this on tv, I really like the ad. It’s very Americana and to me, the ad says “Hey, we’re a step above Levi’s and currently marketing at a Target price point!” No offense to William Rast (I majorly respect Justin Timberlake), I haven’t gotten to make it out to a Target yet, as the line came out yesterday. I am really interested to look at the leather in the collection.
Black Swan
I just saw the film Black Swan starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, last night. I know there has been so much talk about the costumes and I can now truly attest to the beauty and craftsmanship created by Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte. They are all stunning, my favorite being the black swan ensemble. Here are a few sketches and a still of Natalie from the movie in the black swan costume.
Company UK
I had to share with everyone a magazine cover, but it’s not so simple. It’s for Company magazine, a publication headquartered in London. Over the summer on my study abroad program, we visited Hearst Publications and Company was one of the magazines under the Hearst umbrella. Cosmo UK is also a part of this group, and we met the editor herself, no big deal. The editor of Company, Victoria White, sat next to me as she spoke to our International Communications class about magazines and the industry. Needless to say, it made my life complete. Not only is the magazine amazing, but it is the type of publication that I would love to work for, especially their High Street fashion quarterly. But to my point: on the cover of Company’s January edition is Nicola Roberts, one of my fashion icons. She is in the UK girl band Girls Aloud and is absolutely gorgeous. I see a lot of myself in her, and I admire her tons.
Please add to my Christmas list:
Chloe Ballet Flats
One of my favorite designers is Chloe, and in the Spring 2011 collection the line features these amazing ballet flats. These shoes look amazing, and most of all comfortable and can go with anything! Perfect timing on their part, with the release of the ballet movie “Black Swan.” Probably not intentional but still a funny coincidence. I am obsessed (currently) with authentic looking ballet flats. I got a pair from TopShop in England this summer and they are ripping, which breaks my heart. I have also had three pairs of the same black Steve Madden ballet flats. Sidenote –they destroy so easily over the years.
