Balmain Resort 2013

I’m a huge fan of Balmain lately, and I feel like their use of prints in this 2013 resort collection is amazing. The collection works with stripes, floral, leather, and more to create a unified look comprised of stylish mixed media. Vegas and South Beach reportedly inspired the looks, best seen through the silhouettes of the ultra-mini dresses and elongated trousers.  The colors serve to balance out the seasons, as a good resort line should. Playing up black as the base color for most of the looks works well amidst the abundance of patterns. The collection displays a great range of outfits from elongated blazers, pencil-sraight trousers, to skin-tight dresses. You can bee sure that high street shops will pick up on the heavy use of diamond and thick vertical stripe patterns so keep an eye out.

Wolf Gang

I saw this dress the last time I was in Bergdorf Goodman (5th floor). Ever since I laid eyes upon this …piece…. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the dress. I thought it to be a bit out there and a little strange. After a few weeks of lingering thoughts I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m in love with this dress. Sure, for some people it’s too much but I would totally rock this dress. Graphic prints (especially of animals) seem to be a trend lately **see Givenchy RTW** and one would certainly grab some attention wearing this.

Givenchy Couture

Ricardo Tisci is at it again. This gorgeous fall couture fresh from Paris draws inspiration from the gypsies of southern Italy and 60s silhouettes. Can it get more Romantic than that? The photo set we’ve come to expect depicting the models from the front and back is complemented by a fitting German Shepard. The color palate is earthy and evokes a sense of nature. One in which the models emerge from the forest behind them. The gowns are accented with capes, fringe and hand beaded detailing.

Isabel Marant High top Sneakers

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts of these shoes lately. They look like a cross between a space boot and a sneaker. Regardless, I’m sort of into that, we do live in the 21st century after all. Why not embrace it? Plus I love the idea of women wearing high tops. Aside from Converse, there aren’t many high tops for women out there. Especially on the high fashion side.

I think they can be pretty fashionable. Lana del Rey has the white/cream pair, Alicia Keys and Beyonce have been seen in an all black pair.
